History

Formally established in 1991 by Robynne McTaggart, Noblewood’s previous owner, Noblewood began as breeding barn for purpose bred sport horses, focusing on the discipline of jumping.

After commencing the breeding program, McTaggart established Noblewood as one of the most important performance breeders in Australia, embodying ethical and high moral integrity in the breeding and selling of beautiful horses. Nearly 30 mares and stallions were imported to Noblewood from Holstein Germany in 1991, 1997 and 2004, 2007 and 2009. Proving its successful breeding formula, Noblewood produced show jumpers performing at World Cup level, had horses perform on the National Australian elite squads, as well as shortlisted for Olympic and World Equestrian Games.

McTaggart expanded to offer Noblewood’s buildings and grounds as an events venue, then later decided to wind down the breeding program in 2020. Ownership then changed hands to Cristy Shore and her daughters in 2022. Going forward, Noblewood will continue to offer the property as a premier events venue ideal for weddings, corporate meetings & conferences and community events.
